This collection is largely composed of accounting books. These volumes include journals, ledgers, and day books of the business. These records record the date, nature of transaction, and amount. Other volumes include memorandum books, receipt books, sales books, and inventory books. The records reflect virtually all transactions conducted by a dry goods merchant establishment of the period.
